Lenses with an index of 1.56 are considered to be the most cost-effective lenses on the market. They are 22% thinner than standard CR39 lenses.
These lenses change their color based on UV light exposure. They provide 100% UV protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays. By automatically adjusting to light conditions, they help to minimize eye strain and discomfort in diverse environments.
1.56 semi-finished lenses are the most common lenses in the RX lab and offer stable parameters for accurate RX production. They require further processing (a customization of the back curve and other parameters) to match a specific client’s prescription (RX). They can be cut to fit into the frames perfectly.
A "D-Segment" bifocal design in the lower portion of the lens is for reading and other close-up tasks. When using bifocal, it is clear at near and far distances, but the intermediate distance (between approximately 2 and 6 feet) may be blurred. Take the example of a piano player. He can see far and near, but the notes he is trying to read are too far away. Therefore, he must use the center section in order to see the notes.
